4 can’t-miss programs and solutions SMB partners need right now
According to the latest research from ConnectWise, more than half of SMBs say that investing in cybersecurity and IT modernization are on the top of their priority lists. IT solution providers focused on the SMB market can count on Ingram Micro for the tech and training they need to fulfill their SMB customers’ needs. Here a few highlights:

Protect your customers’ Microsoft 365 data with Veeam
Many of your customers use Microsoft 365, and some may think that Microsoft is responsible for backing up their data. However, as the Microsoft 365 Shared Responsibility Model states, “With Microsoft 365, it’s your data—you control it—and it’s your responsibility to protect it.”

Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 eliminates the risk of losing access and control over your Microsoft 365 data, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Microsoft Teams—so that your data is always protected and accessible.

In addition to being named to Forbes World’s Best 100 Cloud Companies, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 was named the top backup solution by Sirius, an organization known for testing solutions as part of their Data Protection Heatmap study. Per the study, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 outperformed all other solutions in all the key areas.

Data center modernization initiatives
Last year, data centers (DCs) were responsible for 2% of the world’s CO2 emissions, equivalent to the entire airline industry worldwide. With the explosive growth in cloud and edge computing, these emissions will only continue escalating. It’s been forecast that by 2025, data centers could consume up to 20% of the earth’s power.

Companies concerned about this unsustainable trend have ramped up their commitments to a carbon-neutral future. For example, within the last few years, Amazon pledged to achieve 100% carbon neutrality by 2025. Another tech titan, Microsoft, vowed that all its data centers will be run carbon-neutral by 2030.

How APC is helping data centers and IT solution providers make a difference
Besides using renewable energy to supplement traditional energy sources, there are additional ways data centers and IT solution providers can make a positive impact on their sustainability initiatives. One example is by upgrading uninterruptible power supply (UPS) devices. The amount of energy consumed by a single UPS device may seem insignificant—about 1% of the total power consumed at a data center or edge computing site. However, for a bank or retailer with 100+ locations, that 1% adds up to a lot.

Newer UPSs, beat out legacy UPSs in several categories, including performance and sustainability. One example that illustrates this difference is the APC Smart-UPS Ultra 5kW, which delivers 1.5x more power than traditional UPSs in a 2U footprint. This UPS also features superior battery technology. For example, traditional UPSs typically use valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries, which last three to five years. The APC Smart-UPS, on the other hand, uses lithium-ion (Li-ion) technology that lasts up to 10 years. Disposal costs at the end of life are lower for Li-ion batteries, too.

The APC Smart-UPS also supports remote monitoring and management, so solution providers can monitor battery health and performance without going onsite to check. There are additional advantages to upgrading legacy UPS solutions, which you learn about here.
