VARs will need to familiarize themselves with security and privacy protection technologies to keep up. Context-aware security will become ever more critical, and distributor partnerships look set to be particularly helpful for VARs navigating the complex terrain.
Data center infrastructure and network infrastructure, particularly of the wireless variety, will also play a key enabling role in the IoT era. Provisioning speeds will be critical for the large numbers of new devices connecting to the network. Meanwhile, Big Data tends to dramatically increase the amount of east-west traffic within a data center and can also contribute to growth in north-south traffic. Simpler, more efficient network designs that offer high scalability and fast provisioning speeds will be important, as will greater capacity overall.
