In times of economic instability, public sector resellers need every possible advantage to close deals and keep business moving. One smart way is by increasing access to diverse certification opportunities—purchases made from businesses owned by individuals who are part of a traditionally underrepresented group.
In the U.S., for example, there are 16 categories used to identify diverse businesses, including small-business enterprises, minority-owned businesses, woman-owned and Native American-owned businesses. 
If you want to tap into these opportunities (but aren’t a diverse supplier yourself), Ingram Micro’s new Supplier Diversity Program can help.

It meets your growing demand for diversity spend credits.
By enabling you to collaborate with diversity-certified partners, you can leverage their diversity certifications to earn credit without changing your sales process. You’ll experience continuity of doing business while meeting your diversity spend goals by:

  • Creating a child account with Ingram Micro rather than starting a relationship with a new partner
  • Using existing credit lines
  • Leveraging existing manufacturer authorizations
  • Using existing purchasing models and channels to earn diversity spend credit
It may open doors for new federal opportunities.
Diverse certification is important because it authenticates that the business is owned, managed and controlled by a qualifying diverse group. Certification also opens the door for opportunities with the federal government, which has a mandate to increase the number of diverse suppliers within their supply chain. 
Your transaction process doesn’t change.
Through this partner program, you work directly with a diversity-certified entity. When you need to earn diversity spend credit, you place your orders through that Ingram Micro sub-distributor, who leverages Ingram Micro’s fulfillment capabilities to process the order.
Placing an order through a sub-distributor functions the same as placing an order directly with Ingram Micro—with the benefit of additional sales support. At the end of the transaction, you get your diversity spend documentation, and the manufacturer gets their standard POS reporting.
