4 ways to boost your post-pandemic pro AV business
With the worst of the pandemic behind us, there have been signs of economic recovery and the hope of life returning to something close to normal. Indeed, many industry insiders are bullish about the immediate future. With a potential upsurge in travel, vacations, hotel and resort stays, dining out and entertainment consumption comes an increase in pro AV sales opportunities, especially with digital art, entertainment and other applications. Here’s where the opportunities may lie and how you might profit in 2021.

  1. Digital art technology
The digital art market has experienced steady growth over the past few years, with major museums and galleries supporting and showcasing the medium. Artists and galleries are relying on digital displays, projectors and pro audio to create immersive installations. Additionally, some corporations are now featuring installations in the lobbies and common spaces of their buildings. For example, Progressive Insurance has many art installations in its offices, including a digital video projection by artist Jennifer Steinkamp. For such high-profile digital art, pro AV specialists will play a significant role in ensuring the art displays as intended.

  1. Public messaging
When it comes to sharing information with people localized to a building, campus or park, digital signage is the way to go. Today, we see signage used to share information on hygiene/safety measures, tied to sensors for automated occupancy counting, used for wayfinding and more. Also, digital signage software continues to evolve, making it easier than ever to build video walls, manage content remotely and even tap into multilanguage and translation features.

  1. Projection mapping
Projection mapping continues to gain in popularity as the barriers of entry drop. At the same time, applications are getting more impressive. For example, the Matterhorn mountain (yes, the mountain itself) in Switzerland was illuminated during the pandemic to share messages of support and hope. While your customers might not need to illuminate mountains, smaller projects can be a great source of revenue.

  1. Entertainment
As the retail and hospitality markets return to normal, we’ll see digital signage used in old and new ways. Everyone’s looking for ways to stand apart and digital signage can provide the means. Shopping malls are using signage that provides information to shoppers and entertainment in the form of digital art, music videos and more.

The above are just samples of the opportunities out there for pro AV solution providers. With economic recovery comes opportunity; will you be the one to cash in? For more information on how your company can leverage these opportunities and more, contact Tom Jones, Ingram Micro’s pro AV expert.
