Time to upgrade: Catalyst 9000 series fixed access switching portfolio transitions
In this “Time to Upgrade” webinar series, Daniel Stewart, Ingram Micro Business Transformation Center (BTC) engineer, highlights several of the latest Cisco Catalyst 9000 Series switches and makes the case for upgrading from earlier models.

Viewers will see several comparisons, including the Catalyst 2960X and the 9200 switches, to learn about key upgrades, such as:

  • Improved CPU—from dual core 600 MHz to an embedded quad core 1.4 Ghz
  • Multigigabit interfaces—MGig is the driving force to Wi-Fi 6 and beyond technologies in your wireless AP space, giving users up to 10x more throughput
  • Stacking—Better performance (up to 160 Gbps) when linking switches
  • Power—Nearly twice as much PoE power (1440W vs. 740W)
  • Modern OS—Support for streaming telemetry, patching, license upgrades and model-driven programmability
  • Advanced routing—Support for the latest protocols such as Virtual Route Forwarding (VRF), Intermediate System to Intermediate System (IS-IS), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
  • Fabric—Support for SD-Access Fabric Edge running the latest IOS-XE
