Earn a Higher Return on Your E-Rate Sales. Here’s How.

Recently, we posted an article about E-rate, which is a government program that provides eligible schools and libraries with telecommunications, internet access and internal connections at rates discounted from 20 to 90 percent. As a follow-up, we have two important, E-rate-related announcements to share.

First, the USAC (Universal Service Administrative Company) has extended the FY2016 application-filing window to allow applicants more time to submit their applications. FCC Form 471, which was originally due Friday, April 29, has been given a deadline extension until Thursday, May 26. Consortia and libraries will receive an additional extension until July 21. In addition to having four more weeks to influence K-12 prospects and customers to apply for E-rate assistance, the Cisco US Public Sector and APO (Americas Partner Organization) SLED (State and Local Government and Education) teams have a special E-rate incentive for Cisco partners. Here’s how it works:

 

  1. After positioning Cisco/Meraki in a valid Form 470 opportunity, the partner account manager may submit proof of performance (POP) documents or screenshots to sleducator@cisco.com by July 1, 2016. (Note: POP documents include Form 470 and Form 471.)
  2. The Cisco team will review the POP documents. Once approved, the partner account manager will receive a payout no later than July 25, 2016.

 

The payout amount will be based on the value of the Cisco/Meraki technology and services proposed on Form 471. Payouts start at $250 for deals valued at less than $100,000 and can reach $1,000 for individual partners with deals that exceed $500,000 in Cisco/Meraki products and services.
