CMSP: Your solution to increased recurring revenue in 2020

The IT managed services market is undergoing a meteoric rise from $180.5 billion in 2018 to a projected $282.0 billion by 2023, according to the latest research from MarketsandMarkets, representing a CAGR of 9.3% during the forecast period. Cisco’s CMSP (Cloud and Managed Services Program) is designed to help Cisco and Meraki partners capitalize on this growth opportunity. With CMSP, partners can:

  • Grow their managed services revenue with incentives, promotions and market development funds.
  • Offer solutions that accelerate their customers’ digital transformations.
  • Reach new markets and new customers using the program’s marketing tools and resources.  
The program comprises three tiers: CMSP Express, CMSP Advanced and CMSP Master. Here are the requirements and benefits associated with each tier:
Express Tier—This tier requires a marketing service description, proof of managed services delivery and an SLA (service level agreement). Additionally, partners are required to provide first-call support, sign a commercial/legal agreement, provide monthly billing, use an RMM (remote monitoring and management) tool and be Meraki accredited. The Express Tier is designed to give partners an opportunity to grow with a minimum of one Cisco-based managed service (e.g., Meraki, Cisco Security or Cisco Enterprise Networking). Besides receiving up to a 50% discount on Meraki products and Cisco enterprise routing, enterprise switching and wireless products, CMSP Express partners receive market development funds, plus co-marketing and digital assets.
Advanced Tier—This tier builds on the Express Tier, helping partners to expand their portfolio with Cisco-powered services and to earn higher rewards. Besides meeting the Express Tier requirements, partners in the CMSP Advanced Tier must make a booking commitment of $1 million in year one, create a business plan, use at least one Cisco-powered service, be Webex validated and have at least one ITIL V2 or V3 foundation-certified staff member. Advanced Tier partners enjoy an additional 5% discount on Cisco and Meraki products.
Master Tier—This tier adds the requirement for partners to offer one additional Cisco-powered service and it requires an in-person audit. Partners at this level are recognized as being at the highest level of achievement.
