It's All in the Configuration

October 12, 2017

What is it?

Ingram Micro Integration Services customizes products offered through Ingram Micro— and even products that customers have purchased elsewhere. Customization can be simple or complex, ranging from asset-tagging mobile devices to building huge racks of equipment. Or, schools may have Chromebooks etched with school names, logos and mascots. And education customers appreciate the white-glove treatment that sets up the Chromebooks so that students can log on and immediately get to work.

Other commonly configured products include servers, laptops and desktop PCs. Ingram Micro can handle multivendor solutions, including testing equipment and ensuring everything is fully functional before the solutions are shipped. Having a dedicated center for customization translates into more value for you.

How does it work?

The Ingram Micro integration services team works hand-in-hand with solution providers. When a quote or purchase order comes in, Ingram Micro writes the instruction set for the customization so end customers get exactly what they need. This approach helps solution providers extend their capabilities by leveraging Ingram Micro’s strength and size, while reducing the number of touch points between an order and the customer. By partnering with Ingram Micro through the whole opportunity, you increase the time-to-value for your customers and reduce tedious configuration work.

Solution providers pay for the integration service only when they use it, and there are no ongoing fees. Prices range from $4 for each asset tag or $150 per server that is staged, stored and shipped. Ingram Micro Integration Services offers some 75 different services.

What’s in it for me?

Ingram Micro ships the products to the customer directly, quickly and economically. Solution providers still make money by marking up the service, even though they never touch the order. That allows solution providers to spend more time in the field with clients, and less time configuring and shipping equipment.
