IDC predicts that small and midsize businesses will spend $161 billion on IT this year. Ingram Micro’s SMB Alliance community is more focused than ever on helping solution providers capitalize on this big opportunity, especially in hot-growth areas like cloud services.
“It’s important for SMB Alliance members to know we work closely with Ingram Micro’s cloud team, so we’ll be highlighting and focusing on cloud services and the cloud marketplace like never before,” says Darren Gottesmann, director of sales, Ingram Micro SMB, and sponsor of SMB Alliance. “There will be monthly messaging around how to work with Ingram Micro’s marketplace of cloud services.”
For a decade, SMB Alliance has helped SMB-focused solution providers gain access to new markets and provided useful tools to drive more business. SMB Alliance members get extra attention from manufacturers, access to business-building resources, and tools and training to help them run their businesses better. “Participation in the SMB Alliance community, ranging from peer networks to formal partnerships, helps members build relationships and tap into exclusive opportunities,” says Gottesmann.
In 2016, SMB Alliance will host monthly member conference calls featuring guests from Ingram Micro and manufacturers, as well as member success stories. Also new are quarterly member-to-member events, as SMB Alliance council members host meetings in their home cities to share best practices for cloud services.
“With 200 members around the U.S., frequency of communication and regular contact is the glue that holds this community together,” says Gottesmann. “Our strategy is to overwhelm our partners and vendors with value and help them to achieve their sales goals.” That’s an excellent resolution for any year.
