While Cisco has always been an IT channel-focused company, its offerings admittedly
haven’t always been a perfect fit for MSPs selling to the small and medium size business (SMB) community. Since acquiring Meraki in 2012, however, the company’s made several strides to develop a holistic offering of technology solutions for channel partners along with resources to educate and support its partners.
Here are four resources you should know about:
- MSP Portal. The MSP portal is a central location for staff to monitor all of their Cisco Meraki end customer networks over the web. Built into the Cisco Meraki dashboard, the MSP portal gives MSPs a single location to evaluate end customers’ licensing compliance and networked devices. From the MSP portal page, click into any of your managed customer networks and use Cisco Meraki’s live tools to remotely troubleshoot appliances; or use the dashboard to monitor users, devices, and application traffic, set group-based policies, update licensing and manage customers’ device inventory. You get end-to-end visibility of your customers’ networks from any Internet-accessible location—whether that’s at a NOC (network operation center)/SOC (security operation center) or your field offices.
- MSP University. In November 2018, Cisco launched MSP University with ConnectWise, a leading PSA (professional services automation) provider and business automation platform. The first MSP University course, MSP Supercharger, was developed by industry expert Gary Pica, creator of the TruMethods framework. His framework has helped thousands of MSPs build sustainable businesses. All MSP University courses are available free to Cisco partners.
- ConnectWise Unite with Cisco. This is a cloud management platform for MSPs that provides a monitoring, management and billing platform for Cisco’s leading cloud offers including Cisco Meraki, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco Webex Teams and Cisco StealthWatch Cloud. The platform now helps more than 400 Cisco MSPs deliver managed services more effectively, efficiently and profitably via a single pane of glass to more than 1,000 customers and more than 20,000 Meraki devices.
- Meraki Managed Services hub. Cisco also has a Meraki-specific hub filled with educational resources designed to help MSP partners in their journey to sell Meraki-based managed services. In addition to vital resources such as “Getting Started with Meraki MSP,” “The MSP Playbook,” “Service Creation Resources,” “MSP Trailmap,” and “Taking Your Managed Service to Market,” partners can post questions in an MSP Forum.
